Mortal Kombat 12 is an upcoming fighting game in the Mortal Kombat series. It is being developed by Netherrealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the 12th main installment in the main series and will be released in Early April 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, Steam, & Nintendo Switch.

Story

Mortal Kombat 12 takes place 3 years after the events of MK11 & MK11: Aftermath.Fire God Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana Khan, Raiden, Fujin, Johnny Cage, Cassie Cage, Past Scorpion, Grand Master Sub-Zero, Kotal Khan, Jade, Jax Briggs, Past Jax Briggs, Jacqui Briggs & Past Sonya Blade & time has been restored with the Hourglass. Raiden is still human, but is now a sensei at the White Lotus Temple with Bo' Rai Cho, Li Mei & Ashrah. Peace has been made with Earthrealm & Outworld & Kronika, Shinnok & Cetrion have been defeated. However, a new threat arises. One that is even stronger than Onaga, Shao Khan, Shinnok & Cetrion combined. A powerful Namahage despot from the Chaosrealm by the name of Bluddbath threatens to take over New Edenia & Earthrealm & take the kamidogus from those realms & use it to take over the other realms as well, also BluddBath has some aliies of his own, they are Tiamat, Nitara, Belokk, Skarlet, Kira, Tremor, A Now-Revenant Kano, A Now-Revenant Shao Khan, Havik, A Resurrected Quan Chi, Kollector, D'Vorah, & Ermac. Now it's up to the heroes to band together & take down this new evil with the help of new allies from the Eagle-like Asgarth & A Reptilian Shokan named Toxicito.

Characters

Several characters from MK11, MKX and the Mortal Kombat 3D Era returns with some brand new characters in the roster. It is scheduled for 72 characters as base roster with some characters that need to be unlocked. The characters listed in the game are:

2. Sub-Zero (Voiced by Steve Blum) (Animality: Polar Bear - Pounces at the opponent, devouring him/her.)
3. Liu Kang (Voiced by Matthew Yang King) (Animality: Dragon - Sets the opponent on fire with his dragon fire breath & then eats the upper half of the opponent's body.)
4. Kung Lao (Voiced by Sunil Malhotra) (Animality: Crane - Pecks the opponent’s eyes out and plucks out his/her brain.)
5. Raiden (Voiced by Richard Epcar) (Animality - Electric Eel: Wraps himself around the opponent, shocking him/her until he/she explodes.)

Bluddbath - New & Unlockable (Voiced by Patrick Seitz) (Animality - Hellhound: Alongside a pack of hellhounds, he pounced at the opponent & he & the hellhounds maul the opponent to death, biting off huge chunks of the opponent’s flesh & body, eating cartilage, muscle, internal organ & even bone.)

New Characters

• Hydro - A member of the original Lin Kuei with Hydrokinesis, the power to manipulate water. Hydro was the friend & partner of the original Sub-Zero, Bi-Han. Unfortunately, he was unable to save his friend from being murdered by Scorpion of the Shirai Ryu during the 1st Mortal Kombat tournament. Following the news of Bi-Han's death, Hydro tried to avenge his fallen friend sometime before Tundra & Smoke would make a similar journey. He fought very well, but unfortunately was severely brutalized & nearly murdered by Scorpion. Barely clinging onto his life, Hydro was taken in by his family to be nursed back to health. Ultimately, this would be a time-consuming process that allowed Hydro to be spared the Lin Kuei's Cyber Initiative. When he was finally healthy again, Hydro was offered a position in the new Lin Kuei by Kuai Liang, otherwise known as the new Sub-Zero, the grandmaster. However, Hydro would refuse the position, remaining loyal to the old Lin Kuei. He became disillusioned entirely when he found out that his own brother, Aqua, had joined the new Shirai Ryu clan, led by the man who brutally murdered Bi-Han & nearly killed him years prior. Unsure of his purpose in life, Hydro was approached by Frost & Sektor & offered them a chance to be reunited with the old Lin Kuei clan. Hydro agreed & disappeared. When he resurfaced, he was forever changed. Hydro was now cyberized just like Cyrax, Frost, Sektor & Smoke were, & now serves as one of the top lieutenants of the cyborg ninja clan known as the Tekunin.
• Takk/Ferra - Three Outworld years ago, Ferra's bond with Torr broke & she became a brute. Now she has been paired with a new rider, a Symbiotic Outworlder named Takk. Like Ferra/Torr, The rider, Takk, serves as the de facto brains of the duo, while the hulking Ferra is the muscle. It's possible they communicate each other telepathically, or that Takk can actually understand the booming grunts that are Frra's usual vocalizations as well as her limited english grammar. Found roaming the Tarkatan Wastes by Imperial troops, Takk/Ferra was trained/coerced into serving as Kotal Khan & Jade's personal bodyguard.
• Nighthawk - Every generation, the Great Spirit chooses a worthy warrior to become Nightwolf: the Matoka’s champion and protector. Grey Cloud proved worthy when he laid down his life to prevent the Black Dragon from plundering what remained of his tribe’s sacred artifacts. As Nightwolf, Grey Cloud possesses extraordinary magic granted by the Great Spirit. He uses it not only to fight for the Matoka’s future, but also to defend all of Earthrealm, he would bare a son with his lover of the Matoka, Spring Deer, that son would be named Fateful Eagle. One day Fateful Eagle, he was destined to become the next Nightwolf, however Fateful believed that he was not yet ready to become a Guardian like his father & handle the responibilities of a Defender of Earthrealm. So he rebelled against his own father & ran away, heading on a journey to find his own destiny. Though he ended up regretting his decision of abandoning home weeks later. Fateful would be mockd for his Cherokee/Matoka native american heritage by racist people. What was worst was that he got beaten up by thugs. While trying to find food, he spot a suffering native american woman getting mugged by a criminal, Fateful came to the woman's aid, who was carrying a sacred relic of the Matoka, the criminal was a member of the Red Dragons. Despite not wanting to be the next Nightwolf, Fateful had to take a stand & so, he accepted the detiny chosen for him & chose to defend the Matoka for the first time, although he put up a good fight, but he was brutally beaten. However, he was willing to protect the woman & the relic, even if it means taking down the Red Dragon along with him. That was when the Great Spirit came to him and embodied him, taking the mantle of not Nightwolf, but another legendary defender of the Matoka: Nighthawk. Now as Nighthawk,  he managed to fight back against the crook and successfully drove the Red Dragon away from Matoka, saving the woman & the Sacred Relic of The Matoka, pleasing Nightwolf. Years later, along with Nightwolf, Nighthawk allies with Liu Kang and Raiden to defeat the evil Bluddbath.
• Toxicito - Toxicito is a Zataurria Shokan, A Reptilian Shokan whose kind was thought to have been extinct long ago. Toxicito seeks vengeance on Shao Khan for the genocide of his race. He serves as Jade’s subordinate and allies with Fire God Liu Kang and The Defenders Of Earthrealm to defeat Bluddbath and save the realms.
• Hornbuckle - A former member of Onaga's holy men, he was involved with the capture of the firespawn known as Blaze & his conscription into guarding the Dragon's Egg. However, by following this act in the name of Onaga, he began to have reservations about the cult's actions, as he had personally joined them in hopes of seeing Shao Khan dethroned & Outworld being placed in better hands. During a mission with the cult, this Outworlder was transported to Earthrealm. With no way of returning to Outworld, he decided to make a life for himself there, eventually becoming an MMA fighter by the stage name of "Hornbuckle". He would go unknown with the greater conflict of the realms for many years, but with Kitana Khan now on the throne, Hornbuckle returned to Outworld to serve the new Queen, amending for his past mistakes & fighting alongside Liu Kang and his allies in the battle against Bluddbath.
• Belokk - A powerful demon of the Netherrealm, Belokk has served as a general of Hell's armies long before the fallen Elder God, Shinnok, seized dominion over the realm. Belokk had initially opposed the fallen Elder God, but was ultimately defeated alongside his master, Lucifer. For thousands of years did Belokk fade into obscurity. However, the defeat & death of Shinnok caused the destablization of the Netherrealm & the balance of power ha shifted in a different direction.The Netherrealm no longer had one singular monarch.The perfect condition for Belokk to reawaken once more. He quickly joined forces with Bluddbath to help build his army by recruiting demons & Onis to take the kamidogus & use them to rule the realms with an iron fist. Belokk had also allied with a fabled "Elder Demon" of incredible power named Baphomet. With his power & Baphomet's power combined, Belokks' power became very strong and deadly.
• Aqua - An individual with hydrokinetic abilities, Aqua is the younger brother of Hydro of the Lin Kuei However, he didn't join the Lin Kuei, fearing that they were not as righteous as Hydro said they were. He was absolutely right about the perilous nature of his brother's work when Hydro was nearly killed by Scorpion during an effort to avenge his brother, Bi-Han. Aqua brought Hydro back to their family, where he was nursed back to health over a period of years. During that time, Aqua continued to explore the capacity of his powers & eventually learnd of a clan with an MO that he could get behind: The Shirai Ryu. The Lin Kuei's once-extinct enemy, now reformed by the very same man who had brutalized his brother for the purpose of protecting Earthrealm. Of course, Aqua was unaware of most of this Hydro had mentuined the Shirai Ryu before, but never in great detail, as he only referred to his opponent as "Scorpion" or Bi-Han's murderer, neither knowing anything of Hanzo Hasashi. Aqua enlisted himself in the clan, becoming a formidable opponent. Amusingly, he took up wearing a mask resembling the bill of a duck, believing that the sheer ridiculousness of it would throw off his enemies & cause to underestimate him. He was proven right on several occasions in which this small distraction granted him victory in sparring against fellow students of the Shirai Ryu. Now, Aqua's life has become quite troublesome. His Grandmaster has dedicated himself & the clan to aid Earthrealm's new protector god, Fire God Liu Kang, whose presence mixed with Raiden's presence made Aqua uneasy as of late. Furthermore, Hydro had suddenly resurfaced, allegedly aiding a new clan, and hacing been transformed into a cyborg, the very fate that he managed to evade years prior. The future of Aqua remains unseen, but there's no doubt that he'll be a variable asset in what's to come.
• Nimbus Terrafaux - Nimbus Terrafaux is an African-American kickboxer & Earthrealm fighter who met Johnny Cage on the Nethership. He is one of the few people who believe the authenticity of Johnny Cage's martial arts. He was born in America. He was friends with fellow marital artist Johnny Cage. Before the tournament, he fought against a fighter named Caesar in London, where Cage was impressed by his skills. Lean saw some of Johnny Cage's films and believed the authenticity of Johnny Cage's martial arts. During Cage's fight against Kano, Lean helped fighting against the Black Drgaon alongside the Shaolin Monk, Liu Kang. Eventually, Lean and Cage became good friends with Liu Kang. Now they must prepare to fight against the chaotic evil namahage warlord, Bluddbath to save their realm as well as Outworld.
• Asgarth - Asgaarth is a member of an Eagle-like race of humanoids that are originally from Edenia & was once a wise advisor and general of King Jerrod. After King Jerrod's death at the hands of Shao Kahn, Asgarth went into hiding, but he secretly remained in contact with Princess Kitana, Jerrod‘s daughter. Recently the humaoid eagle has resurfaced upon hearing that Shao Khan was no more & that Kitana was now the new ruler of Outworld and has aided with Earthrealm as Kitana Khan's vizier & strategist of battle with Sheeva & Baraka as generals of Kitana Khan's army.
• Lotus - Lotus Kang is the son of Fire God Liu Kang & Kitana Khan.  While his mother rules Outworld, Lotus and his father fight to protect all realms. Lotus is a high class warrior in Outworld, fighting alongside other high classed warriors, such as Jade, Kotal, Baraka, Asgarth, Sheeva and Pantherk. His mother has lost her will to fight, as she is the Kahn of Outworld, only fighting to protect her realm. Lotus now carries her fan blades, and will use them to fight Bluddbath.
• Pantherk - Pantherk is a member of a Panther-like race of humanoids that originate from Osh-Tekk. Pantherk was once a brave warrior and general to Kuetz'al Khan of the Osh-Tekks. After Kuetz'al's Death by the hands of Shao Khan, Reiko & Goro, Pantherk went into hiding, fearing execution if spotted.How ever he has secretly remained in contact with the Osh-Tekk ruler, Kotal Khan & Jade. When Kitana Khan became the new leader of Outworld, Pantherk resurfaced ready to aid Kotal, Jade, Sheeva, Baraka & Kitana as well as Fire God Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Fujin, The Speical Forces, Scorpion & Sub-Zero in saving the realms from the clutches of Bluddbath.
• She-Wolf - She-Wolf is a vicious and animalistic she-beast and a Wolf-like humanoid. She comes from a race of wolf-like humanoids from a realm in Vaeternus known as Lobolatus. When Vaeternus was separated from Outworld, Lobolatus ended up separated with Vaeternus as well when Nitara successfully used the Portal Sphere to separate her dimension from Outworld completely. The Lycanoid humans has a millenia-long rivaly with the vampires of Vaeternus. She-Wolf allies herself with Shang Tsung to destroy Nitara if she helps Shang Tsung destroy Raiden, Fire God Liu Kang & the defenders of Earthrealm as well as Kitana, Jade, Kotal, Baraka, Sheeva & Asgarth.
• Tiamat - Tiamat is a member of the near-extinct Saurian race and was once a general in the armies of Zaterra. He fought proudly against Shao Khan and his forces when Zaterra was conquered, but was defeated and presumed to be dead. However, Tiamat survived & went into hiding within Outworld, fearing execution if he were to be discovered. Recently, Tiamat has resurfaced alongside a group of fellow Saurians led by Reptile, Komodai, Chameleon & Khameleon. Their purpose is to seek the restoration of their people and to that end, they've aligned themselves to the evil. shape-shifting, soul-stealing sorcerer Shang Tsung. However, their true master was a power far more greater than Shang Tsung & Shao Khan combined, someone who shared their hatred towards Shao Khan. The long-forgotten dragon king, Onaga. As his plans were nearing fruition, Onaga requested something of the Saurians would need to volunteer themselves for the process. Reptile, Komodai & Chameleon have nearly submitted, but it was Tiamat who suggested anothr possibility. He took the group to a tomb where they uncovered the body of the tyrant ruler of Zaterra, Tetsurri. Tiamat proposed that they present the body of Tetsurri to Onaga & allow the deceased tyrannical king to become his vessel. The other Saurians, including Reptile & Komodai agreed. Tiamat aided in carrying Tetsurri's casket & watched in awe as the Dragon King had returned to life after thousands of years. Upon learning that Tiamat was the one who suggested this vessel, Onaga saw fit to reward the Saurian by using but a small fraction of his sorcery to imbue Tiamat with mystical power, increasing the Saurian's size, physical strength & ferocity tenfold. Tiamat was promoted to the position of general among Onaga's nigh, undefeatable, undead army. As he had promised, Tiamat would serve the Dragon King very well.
• Khrome - A Ninja from Arctika who was imprisoned by Shang Tsung long before the events of Mortal Kombat 1. He is a master of Ferrokinesis & Ninjutsu, despite being imprisoned, Shang Tsung saw potential in him for his kombat skills rivaled even Reptile. So Khrome became Shang Tsung’s strongest fighter if Reptile ever gets defeated, or if Kombatants who won the tournament wanted a stronger & harder challenge. Khrome would later be recruited by Bluddbath to be apart of his army of taking over the realms. He now serves his loyalty to Bluddbath & will aid him alongside Tiamat.
• Bluddbath - Bluddbath is a massive, lumbering & powerful Namahage despot hailing from the Chaosrealm carrying a massive serrated blade. Bluddbath is a readily-playable character in the game. He has typical final boss abilities such as great strength, devastating moves and a few weak spots to exploit for the typically more nimble but weaker opponent. He plans on stealing all of the kamidogus of the realms & use them to take over them, ruling each of them with an iron fist. He serves as the main antagonist of the game.

Krypt

The Krypt returns as it takes place in the Hall of Kombatants, Chaosrealm, Earthrealm, NetherRealm, OrderRealm, Outworld, Edenia, Zaterra, Arctika, Vaeternus, Dreamrealm, Shang Tsung’s Island and the Nexus. The Krypt takes on an Open-World style map. At the entrance, Shujinko will welcome you. Unlike the Krypt in previous games, you can choose between three characters to use to explore the Krypt, you can choose either Apep (from Mortal Kombat: Deception & Mortal Kombat: Unchained), his descendant from Mortal Kombat 11, or create their own avatar. There are many doors and gates that block the player's path, which can be opened by solving puzzles or retrieving certain key items. There are also hundreds of chests scattered throughout The Krypt, which mostly contain random rewards. The varying types of chest each require a different currency to unlock: Koins (either Gold, silver, bronze, kopper, ruby, sapphire, emerald, blue zircon, aquamarine, topaz, iolite, lapis lazuli, platinum, diamond & rainbow), Soul Fragments, and Hearts. Chests requiring Hearts have pre-determined loot, and are the same for everybody. To open them, one must first smash the bust of Shao Kahn atop the chest. There are a few rarer chests as well, including: Kronika Vaults, Blindfold Chests, and a couple unique ones like the submerged chest in The Dead Woods.

There is no Save option in The Krypt, just like in Mortal Kombat 11. Because the game requires an online connection, saving is automatic so that it can store your rewards. Leaving the Krypt and returning later will let you continue exactly where you left off.

Death traps return as a number of death traps are present throughout the Krypt as well that can kill the player. There is no penalty for falling victim to these or dying at the hands of the Krypt's denizens, as the player quickly respawns nearby, though Shujinko will comment on the player's demise.

Key Items return also, with various uses. Some are permanent tools to aid your adventure, and some are consumable to increase your ability to find treasure. From Shao Khan’s Hammer, Ermac’s Amulet, & Scorpion’s Kunai Spear to Blaze’s Heart, Kenshi’s Blindfold, Raiden’s shattered staff & Shinnok’s pendant. As well as konsumable key items like the Ash of the Red Dragon, Sindel's Wedding Ring, Kia’s Spiked Club, Scavenger's Lock Pick, The Mystery Bundle, The Naknadan Charm & Tetsurri’s Gem.

Enemies also return. There are many enemy types in the Krypt. The angry spirit, which appears occasionally when putting on Kenshi's Blindfold, grabbing the player by the neck and exploding their head. By swinging Shao Kahn's hammer right after putting on the blindfold, the monster can be killed and the player will receive a reward, The Kytinn spider. They appear only in Kytinn areas of the Krypt and will chase after the player if noticed. They will spray fire at the player, burning them to death. They can also be killed by Shao Kahn's hammer. There is also the Wolf who can chase after the player and maul the player to death; it can also be killed by Shao Khan’s hammer. There is also the Tygorr who silently stalks the avatar for a few moments before striking instantly and mauling the player to death & can be killed by Shao Khan’s Hammer. There is also the revenant, the shadow wraith, the undead Shadow Priest, the Oni, the Flesh Pit monster & the Krypt Monster that can also kill the player & be killed by Shao Khan’s hammer.

Mortal Kombat 12 Aftermath Edition

Like in Mortal Kombat 11, Mortal Kombat 12 gets an Aftermath Edition that adds 9 new characters, 6 new stages, & a story mode expansion that has 7 thick chapters in story mode that take place after the events of Mortal Kombat 12’s story mode. Also, the updated version of the game features the return of stage fatalities & the animality & Hara-Kiri finishing moves. Mortal Kombat 12: Aftermath Edition would be released on the 5th of June in 2025.

Aftermath Story Mode Plot

Following the defeat of Bluddbath, Fire God Liu Kang, Elder God Raiden, Kitana Khan, Lotus Kang, & Asgarth attempt to restore the chaos, havoc & anarchy in the realms caused by Bluddbath utilizing Bluddbath’s now-purified pendant, only to be interrupted by Shinnok, The Great Kung Lao, Sujin (The Water God who hasn’t made an appearance since Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero), Darrius, Drahmin, Blaze & Hsu Hao, all of whom Bluddbath imprisoned during his reign until his death freed all of them. Shinnok elaborates that, due to Liu Kang, Raiden & Lotus Kang destroying The Chaosrealm's Kamidogu & Kamidogu Dagger when they defeated Bluddbath & purifying the pendant with Orderrealm’s Jinsei in Seido the realms cannot be restored back to normal even with the Kamidogus & Kamidogu Daggers without destroying the entire universe. Shinnok convinces Lotus Kang to send him, Blaze, Hsu Hao, Sujin, Drahmin, Darrius & The Great Kung Lao back in time to steal the Chaosrealm’s Kamidogu & Kamidogu Dagger before Nitara & Havik recover it. Though Raiden, Liu Kang, Kitana, & Asgarth being very distrustful of Shinnok’s motives, Lotus agrees and sends them back, staying behind to protect the pendant.

The seven warriors are transported to Kuatan Jungle just as Pantherk & She-Wolf confronted Belokk & Nitara. They attempt to flee undetected only for news to spread of their arrival to Bluddbath, prompting the Namahage warlord to retaliate. To face Tiamat, Khrome, & Onaga in the Bone Temple, Shinnok determines that their best option is to free Daegon & resurrect Shao Khan. So they head to the Netherrealm to capture Shao Khan’s revenant. Upon returning to Outworld, Shinnok encounters Shang Tsung & persuades him to use Skarlet’s blood debt to Shao Khan to get them in the Soul Chamber undetected and restore Shao Khan despite fierce resistance from Goro, Kintaro, Toxicito, Sheeva & Kitana & Jade’s allies.

Shao Khan & Daegon join Shinnok and the others in traveling to his temple, where Sujin defeats Bluddbath’s forces and convinces Toxicito to join Liu Kang, Raiden & Kitana’s side early while Shao Khan defeats Onaga & Tiamat and helps the group capture the Kamidogu & Kamidogu Dagger of Chaosrealm. With the Kamidogu & Kamidogu Dagger of Chaosrealm in their possession, Sujin and Shinnok travel to the Fire Garden and convince Raiden & Fujin of Shinnok's alliance. When Bluddbath attempts to intervene, Raiden, Fujin, Sujin and Shinnok fend him off, though he reveals that Havik & the fallen Elder God were the ones who designed his pendant using his blood & the sacred water of Chaosrealm.

As the offensive on Bluddbath’s keep is about to commence, Shinnok signals Shao Khan to release and heal Motaro. Together, they destroy Khrome, imprison the Cage family, defeat Kitana, Liu Kang, Lotus, Asgarth, Pantherk, Jade, and Kung Lao, and kill She-Wolf & Kotal. In the process, Shao Khan reveals he was a disciple to Onaga who wanted to take the throne from him as he saw himself as his successor despite Onaga’s real successor to be Tetsurri, who was stronger compared to Shao Kahn. While Sujin spearheads the offensive on Bluddbath’s keep, Raiden & Fujin discover Shinnok's plot and Shao Khan’s betrayal while fighting Kano's revenant after he receives injuries from Lotus & Cassie Cage.

Raiden, Taven, Darrius, The Great Kung Lao, & Fujin arrive too late to stop Shinnok from tricking Sujin into giving him the pendant & the Kamidogu of Chaosrealm & Chaosrealm’s Kamidogu Dagger, and the fallen elder god gains Bluddbath’s full power; revealing that he had planned everything ever since he was imprisoned in the Dungeon of NRK. He overpowers and imprisons Sujin, Taven, Darrius, The Great Kung Lao, Raiden and Fujin into his amulet before using Hsu Hao, Blaze, Drahmin, Daegon, Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn to reach the Citadel. Once Bluddbath’s remaining allies are defeated, Shinnok drains Shang Tsung’s soul power & then imprisons Sindel, Daegon, Drahmin, Blaze, Hsu Hao and Shao Kahn into his amulet and destroys Bluddbath & decapitating him. As he starts manipulating the realms with all of the Kamidogus & Kamidogu Daggers, he is interrupted by Fire God Liu Kang, Elder God Raiden, Asgarth, Kitana Khan & Lotus Kang, who reveals that he was always aware of his intentions and deliberately allowed him to win so the Chaosrealm’s Kamidogu & Kamidogu Dagger would be preserved when Bluddbath was defeated.

From this point, the player can choose which character to fight with:

• (Non-Canonical) If Shinnok is chosen, he overpowers Liu Kang, Raiden, Kitana, Asgarth & Lotus and traps them before turning Bluddbath’s allies & the revenants of Kano & Kotal into his slaves as he ushers in a campaign of conquest across the realms.
• (Canonical) If Lotus Kang & his allies are chosen, they defeat Shinnok, ultimately kill him, and recover the pendant of Bluddbath & the Kamidogus & Kamidogu Daggers. Once they restore all of the realms, Lotus & Asgarth visit the White Lotus Shaolin temple so he can train the next generation of Earthrealm’s champions, led by Kung Lao’s son, Kung Yi (Voiced by Jin Hyong), to become the champions of not just Earthrealm, Outworld & Edenia, but also the realms.
• (Canonical) If Lotus Kang & his allies successfully defeat Shinnok in two straight rounds without losing once nor anyone getting defeated, they manage to reunite with Kung Lao, The Cage & Briggs families & their allies all vow to create a better future while undoing the mistakes & chaos done by Bluddbath & Shinnok throughout the realms. Though they all realize that mortals will still make their own choices and new evils will eventually arise, they resolve to face whatever happens together. All while training the next generation of Earthrealm’s champions, led by Kung Yi, to become the champions of not just Earthrealm, Outworld & Edenia, but also the realms.

List of Stage Fatalities

1. Outworld Koliseum:  When an opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted into the spike pit where the opponent is impaled, bleeds out & dies.
2. Koliseum Beast Pen: When an opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted into the beast cage where they are mauled to death by a Tygorr.
3. Nethership: When an opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted onto one of the hooks, impaling their neck killing them with asphyxiation & blood loss.
4. Kharon’s Ship: When an opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted into the Sea of Blood where they fall into the abyssal sea until getting devoured by a leviathan.
5. The Subway:  When an opponent is defeated on this stage, kombatants grab their victims to smash their faces on the windows of a train as it passes, smearing blood across the sides of the carriages as the head drags against the metal. The winner then tosses the loser across the arena to the other tracks, where another train runs the opponent over while the opponent is still airborne just like in MK 2011.
6. The Pit: When an opponent is defeated on this stage, they can be uppercutted off the bridge where they will first lose an arm to the spiky pillars holding the bridge up, and then either land on a bed of spikes, meet their demise on the rocky bottom below, or  sliced to pieces by giant spinning blades at the bottom with their arm following after.
7. The Living Forest/Dead Woods: When defeated on this stage, the opponent is thrown into a tree's opened mouth and, soon after, the tree begins to feast on the unfortunate soul.
8. Vaeternus Castle: When defeated on this stage, the opponent is kicked into the Iron Maiden torture device, which is closed shut by the winner’s kick, the opponents is impaled by the spikes & bleeds out, dying instantly.
9. Lobolatus Barrens: When the opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is kicked to the Lobolat Den where various Lobolats rip & tear the opponent to shreds.
10. Shaolin Monk’s Dojo: Much like the Shaolin Trap Dungeon in Mortal Kombat 11, when the opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted into the air. A spiked pendelum then comes in and slams them into the ceiling. They begin to fall to the ground and get impaled by the spike trap below.
11. Black Dragon Fight Club: When the opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted outside of the cage where No-Face & the rest of the Black Dragons pummel the opponent to death.
12. Yin-Yang Island: When the opponent is defeated on this stage, the opponent is knocked into the water & eaten alive by piranhas.
13. Tournament: If the winner wins on this stage,  The winner points upwards as the lights dim and the spotlights turn on. The words “Finish Him/Her!” appear on the big screen as the winner picks up one of the arcade machines and crushes the opponent. The broken arcade screen will then display "FATALITY" with the soundbyte sting from Mortal Kombat II playing after along with Dan Forden appearing out of the right corner & says “Toasty!”.
14. The Dead Pool: When the oponnent is defeated on this stage, he/she is uppercutted onto a hook taht is lowered into the acid pool killing them as their body dissolves, the hook then raises up revealing the defeated opponent's skeleton with some bones falling into the acidic pool below.
15. The Nexus: Much like Mortal Kombat Deception & Mortal Kombat Unchained, when the opponent is defeated on this stage, he/she is knocked through the wall surrounding the arena and into the swirling void beyond, never to be seen again & persumably dies.
16. The Street: Much like Mortal Kombat (2011), when the opponent is defeated, he/she is hit by a taxi. When they are hit, it shows their skull being cracked X-Ray style, and then their head is completely ripped off.
