Debut Pokémon XY anime series: A Festival of Decisions! (XY100 / episode 899)

Ash-Greninja (Japanese: サトシゲッコウガ Satoshi-Gekkouga) is a unique Greninja that appears in the Pokémon series. Ash-Greninja is a form that Ash Ketchum's Greninja is able to assume through Bond Phenomenon: an action said to occur when a trainer and their Pokémon completely trust each other. Through Bond Phenomenon, Ash feels the damage taken by Greninja, though is also able to see through the latter's eyes. Ash-Greninja also appears in the demo of the Generation VII titles Pokémon Sun and Moon, and can be transferred to the full game by completing the demo.

Physical Appearance Edit

Ash-Greninja's appearance is very similar to that of an ordinary Greninja. There are a few key differences between Ash-Greninja and a normal Greninja, as Bond Phenomenon gives some of a trainer's aesthetic traits to their Pokémon. Notably, his head features a large red fin influenced by Ash's hat, and smaller black spikes off the side of his head that mimic the appearance of Ash's hair. He also has a large X-shaped water shuriken mounted on his back. His abdomen also takes on a different appearance: whereas a normal Greninja's is of an oval shape, Ash-Greninja's is instead shaped similarly to an uppercase Y. It is also said that Ash-Greninja's legs are far stronger than those of an average Greninja's.
